JP Research, Inc.

JPR, India is focusing on the following primary areas of traffic safety:

  • Accident Data Collection and Analysis.
  • On-site vehicle examination and crash analysis.
  • Develop coding forms to identify factors associated with the crash.
  • Examine field data and identify factors associated with crashes and casualties.

The objective of these activities is the honest and accurate identification, interpretation, and documentation of accident scene related data that form the basis for road accident statistics and also for the reconstruction of the accidents. This may range from limited and specific questions to be answered like time of occurrence, persons and vehicles involved, speed limits and type of location, to detailed and extensive data collected through vehicle crash examination to derive crash dynamics and occupant dynamics and determine causes of the crash and the injuries to the occupants. The data collected provides safety researchers, experts, government and law-enforcement agencies, manufacturers, insurance companies, and other transportation related agencies, an understanding of the traffic accident scenario and enables them to take corrective action to reduce fatalities and improve the quality of human life on the road.

JP Research, Inc. uses the best statistical methodology to perform safety research. Our team of experts has extensive experience solving mathematical, statistical, and engineering problems. Many of the JP Research team members have pioneered analyses and applications that are widely used by the scientific community.

Here is a case study…

JP Research Safe Communities Project, San Mateo County (2000-2001).

The project consisted of two phases. The first phase involved collecting and linking Accident Data from the California Highway Patrol (CHP) Agency with the Trauma Data from Stanford Medical Center, Stanford University, CA and San Francisco General Hospital, CA. This resulted in 647 comprehensive cases which provide traffic accident details and the corresponding injury/fatality reports for the period from Sep 1997 to Dec 1999.

In the second phase, these 647 comprehensive cases were examined and analyzed for types of traffic crashes, locations, demographic details and injuries to motor vehicle occupants, pedestrians and bicyclists. The results of this analysis were provided by JP Research Inc. to the San Mateo County Emergency Medical Services, and based on their recommendations the California Highway Patrol has implemented traffic safety measures and has seen reduction in certain types of crashes in San Mateo County.
