JP Research has already conducted the following Safety Education Seminars
as part of its knowledge sharing and awareness drive.
"Road Safety - Miles to Go Before We Sleep?"
JP Research held its first annual automotive safety seminar, "Road Safety -
Miles to Go Before We Sleep?", on 11 August 2006 at GRT Temple Bay in
Mahabalipuram (Chennai), TamilNadu. Featured speakers were Ms. Jeya Padmanaban
and Mr. Jeffrey A. Pike. The seminar covered introduction to biomechanics,
accident data analysis and crash testing.

Biomechanics, Vehicle Safety and Accident Analysis
In December 2007, the seminar entitled “Biomechanics, Vehicle Safety and Accident Analysis”
was jointly conducted by JP Research, India and the Automotive Research Association of
India (ARAI) on 4th/5th of Dec 2007 in Pune. The seminar was attended by representatives
from auto companies, insurance sectors, local transport authority and the medical fraternity.
World renowned speakers, Dr. Murray Mackay, Dr. Ali, Ms. Elaine Wodzin and Ms. Jeya
Padmanaban spoke on wide range of topics. Some of the topics included forensic examination
of crash damaged vehicles, injury data sources and injury scaling, anatomy, injury mechanisms,
injury criterion by body region, crash test dummies, modeling and population issues.
Dr Ali Hassan gave practical demonstrations on accident analysis on crashed vehicles which
were specially arranged for this purpose. Participants learned to calculate CDC (Collision
Deformation Classification), analyze the intrusions and address nature of injuries
associated with intrusion.
